Any other golfers?
Any other golfers?
I picked up golf during the pandemic and became an ADDICT. I play 90% of the weekends in season, both on Saturday and Sunday. I met a random guy on the course at the end of the 2023 season and we played probably 65 rounds together in 2024. I've also gotten to play some pretty awesome places on work trips including:

My parents are big golfers, they started later in life, probably when I was a junior or senior in high school. I played semi-frequently when I was younger with them, then I had kids. And my kids play sports, and I’m still helping with my oldest daughter’s team so thats pretty much what my family does. My parents were always active with me and my sisters sports too, so thats why they didn’t really start playing until we could both drive, theres just no time!

LOL, something I learned running the other forum is you don't want your normal ID to be a site admin. Its fine to be a moderator, but you don't want to be logged in as admin all the time. So I was flipping between IDs and accidentally started this thread as the admin ID.Chris S wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:15 am *weird, I was posting a reply and the topic disappeared. The time factor is a big reason why I stopped golfing. I graduated from college and immediately started a family. My kids are 20, 18 and 14 now though so I have the time and really enjoy it. Plus (and I need to work on this) its some of the only exercise I get (I walk all my "home course" rounds).
Re: Any other golfers?
I've been a golfer most of my life. On and off, though, as conditions (in life) permit. Unfortunately the past 5-7 years have been quite dry from a golfing standpoint. We moved away from our old neighborhood, where I also had a club membership (baller!), and it made less sense to keep the membership. I've not kept it up with public facilities or courses. Shame, I think. I was down to a 9 handicap--which I worked my ass off to achieve, and it ain't like riding a bike. No telling where I'm at now. Maybe when the kids are out of the house I'll get back to it.
