Many of you know from my infrequent facebook posts that I'm building a new home. In the new home, I'm ditching:
- My 4 foot tall 100lb dual subwoofers
- My projector and 110" screen
- My pre/pro and amp separates
- Dedicated power theater seating in a stadium configuration
- "Normal" size dual subs
- An 85" QNED TV (I'd like to go to 98" class or larger if that becomes available before I upgrade displays)
- A Denon AVR
- Couches (GASP!)
I need a few more things. I think I've settled on a couple reclining sofas that look like stationary furniture. I'm going for a mid-century-ish vibe in the room. I still need a bar-height table and stools, a gaming table and chairs, a cabinet style electronic dart board and an arcade cabinet that I hope to hook a Raspberry Pi up to allow hundreds of 2-player classic arcade games.
I'll share some photos if people are interested. I'm a little melancholy to be honest. Part of it is general aging, part is leaving the house I raised my wonderful family in (some of which are out of the house but may have a temporary return). But I've learned a lot about what works for everyone else, not just me.
