Severance (Apple TV)

Post by CJ »

Curious who else is watching this. My wife and I are just starting season 2. Its a bit of a slow burn to get started on but the last few episodes of S1 were a roller coaster. If you've never heard of it, (no spoilers) the premise is that people can get a procedure done that severs their work mind from their home mind and the show is about how that would play out practically. Pretty good IMO.

My wife and I haven’t had a chance to start season 2 yet but we loved Season 1. The aesthetics of the show are just so well done, too

Ah, you beat me to it, I wanted to post this. Totally into it. Funny, the first time I watched the first episode, I was like "that was interesting". And then I didn't go back and watch Ep 2 until months later or maybe until S2 came out, I forget. I think it's fine though because before I went to watch S3 Ep1, I felt the need to repeat S2. It had been so long and I forgot some things. I am already behind on S3 though.

Favorite moment: the Music Dance Experience. iykyk

S2E7 was pretty fucked up. Interesting style. They use many directors. Forgot the name of this episode director but it may as well have been David Fincher, the influence is so clear. Still love this show. I watched this episode twice. First time I wasn’t paying enough attention and that is generally a mistake with this show.

ngl I am sick of listening to Patricia Arquette mumble-hiss her way through every spoken line this season. Nobody’s intimidated by this bit, they’re just aggravated because they can’t understand a fucking word of it.

Ha! Yeah she’s a great actress so not sure if that’s her or direction she’s getting or a disconnect with the character’s MO.

Finished up the season. My wife and have been watching since the series was new. My middle daughter just started binging when S3 came out.
Spoiler
All three of us HATED the ending. Like were PISSED. Felt very manipulative of the audience. We'll see where next season takes us but that was bullshit.
