Guilty Pleasure series

Post by DYohn »

We watch several TV series as guilty pleasures; meaning we know it's only for fun and not to be taken seriously but we enjoy getting caught up in them.

The current obsession is The Traitors UK streaming on Peacock. We are binging through two seasons of this competition reality show and really getting sucked into the psychological tension of watching normal people make friends and then have to backstab, lie to each other, complete silly "missions" and eliminate their fellows. We never really liked shows like Survivor with similar premises, but for some reason this one, produced by the Survivor production crew, feels more fun.

The US version of The Traitors is less enjoyable for us because the contestants are veterans of other reality shows. The UK version is just "regular people" and it's pretty compelling.

There is also an Aussie and a Kiwi version that we will check out. But first to finish UK Season Two!

Wife and like the US version of The Traitor well enough ( as a guilty pleasure)

But for real guilty pleasure, whenever there’s a new season of Survivor.

We watch The Traitors too, UK, US, and Australia (haven't seen New Zealand yet.) My wife and older daughter really like them so we watch them together. I agree, I think the UK is the best version.
