Modest wireless headphones for TV

Post by Denton »

I'm looking for a pair of headphones for quiet TV use by elderly geeks. :) Fidelity is not a big hangup. These will not be used for critical listening. Physically smaller headsets may be a plus. Use must be simple for luddites like yours truly. Long battery life a plus. Somebody must have done this kind of thing before. What can you recommend?

Leave it to CJ to suggest Apple simplicity.

I have an Apple TV on every TV. It's so convenient to pop in your AirPods (I have AirPods Pro), have the Apple TV detect that you're near, and press one button to connect. I use these all the time because I watch late, or maybe a kid is studying and I can't be blasting the HT or the living room setup. This is such a great solution.

Ah, let's not forget that I also carry them with me everywhere I go, and have for years. Taking calls, listening to podcasts, noise cancellation on planes or other places. Just can't recommend it highly enough.

I assume more than one set of phones can be paired at the same time? (same source)

TLDR: It appears yes, up to 2, according to Apple. I've never tried this myself.
