The main force was a little west of us but we got hit. There's nothing like a 2500-ft high wall of dust and desert grit being blown by 70 MPH winds to get your heart pumping!

Here's a photo from about my house taken yesterday afternoon at about 4, looking east as the Superstition Mountains disappear...

Not usually as they are pushed by high wind and usually rain. After this one blasted through there was a lightning storm with enough rain to wash the solar panels. It rained a lot to the west of us in Phoenix. Flash flooding in downtown I read. But, it's all part of the joy of the desert in monsoon season.
