Re: Quick movie reviews

Went and saw the new Superman last night with one of my daughters. It was fine. Not terrible, not great. She liked it way more than I did. I grew up on Richard Donner Superman. I know a lot of the stuff in the movie is from the comics but having all the other crazy meta humans made it feel like an ...

I "thanked" you for that Yohn, but I also wonder what a sick puppy you had to have been in your younger days. :P

Re: Favorite cocktails

Speaking of mixing gin and vodka, I had a martini once (I think in Vegas?) that on the menu was called The Rat Pack and it was a traditional martini made with 50/50 gin and vodka. It was quite good.

Sounds good. Maybe try a Vesper Martini ? It's Mixologist choice whether it is shaken or stirred ...

Re: Favorite cocktails

I don't ever shake a negroni but I will sometimes stir it in a mixing glass and then strain it over ice so its pre-diluted a little and colder. I try not to be a cocktail snob but only drinks with dairy or juices should be shaken.

Understood. I use the same rule, i.e., when to shake and when to ...

Re: Favorite cocktails

Hey @CJ, I see a negroni on your original list, which is my go-to cocktail starter when out to dinner. I also make them at home. You might want to try shaking it with ice beforehand if you haven't tried, It really smooths out that first sip.

I recently tried a tequilla-variation for a negroni ...

Clarkson's Farm

My wife and I are midway through the fourth and latest season of the Brit TV series Clarkson's Farm. It's a hoot and also enlightening.
We were turned on to this show earlier this year by some friends. Sitting down to watch it with no knowledge I was stunned to see it stars the notorious and ...

The Pitt

Just finished Season 1 of The Pitt, a multi-character hospital drama starring Noah Wylie and a slew of other actors new to me and my wife. It's very much in the vein of E.R., which Wylie was also in and I read was unsuccessful in trying to revive the E.R. show name for this series. Like many multi ...

Re: Layoffs, err, retirements

Wishing you all the best in your retirement David. Having known/followed you for many years now, I know you've dedicated a lot of your life into your job. I'm sure you know that all of your work-related regiment will take time to fade. Or perhaps reapplied to other, more personal endevours. In the ...
