Now that I'm done my turntable upgrades, I've been spinning a lot of "test" records

Records I played i the past few days:
Steely Dan - Aja
Van Moorison - Moondance
Elton John S/T and Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
Abbey Road - Giles Martin Remix
they all sounded amazing except Elton's S/T because that was my mom's copy from when she was in 8th grade and she didn't take very good care of it. No amount of cleaning can fix how damaged it is. It's still listenable, but it's not ... good.
I also listened to the new Foo Fighters album Your Favorite Toy. I really thought there was something wrong with my system listening to this one. They have SO MUCH distortion on Grohl's vocals that it really does not sound good at all. Probably fine in the car or something, but it was not great on vinyl. I'll have to listen to it again, not critically, to see if I actually like it.
