Speaker Project 20 years in the making

Post by Chris S »

A few months ago I finished my speakers. I started them probably in the early 2000s, either I was still in college or just out when I started them. Built the cabinets out of MDF installed the drivers, hooked them up and then ... never did anything. Just used them for 20 years.

Finally got the bug to finish them. Fixed some damage in the cabinets, made them as close to square as I could, and added a mahogany veneer.

It's been a couple of months but every time I look at them, I'm happy with how they cam out.

They're Adire 281s, and I know that's a blast from the past for those of you who have been around forever. I know Mike Knapp ran them for a while, and I'm sure a few others that have been posting have been too. And that said, I'm looking for a Adire LCC or AV5 that someone might have laying around in a garage or something as I'd like to use that instead of a 281 on it's side. But I know those chances are pretty low!

Hmm, images aren't coming through, not sure why:

Maybe the direct links will work:

Nice looking work!

For the record, you just have to put

Code: Select all

[img] [/img]
tags around the image urls

Yeah I was using the img tags originally but it just was spinning in the browser. Strange, yours are working

Edit - That was on me. Network configuration error on my end, worked fine from my phone but my local computer wasn't working. I'm hosting that domain internally and Brave was blocking connections to internal resources like that (192.168.x.x address instead of internet facing)

So ignore me, all good now, img tags are working fine.
