I just got around to rally listening to that Angie of Poutine duo in their child's bed sheet stupid costumes. It's math-rock noodling over digital loops and is absolute garbage if you ask me. Why do people rave about this stuff? Because it's different? Because the costumes are laughable? It's certainly not because it's good music.
IMO, YMMV, Get Off My Lawn, and stand up straight when I'm typing at you, etc.

Working through the user submitted albums on 1001 albums generator now that I'm done the main list.
A lot of it is what you'd expect. Well loved albums that weren't included.
But then there were these that stuck out to me:
Biffy Clyro - Puzzle
This was really good and I'm glad I heard it. Never heard of it before and will listen again
SOPHIE - Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
I knew I was going to hate this from the cover art, and I was right. It was terrible.
I LOVED this album and I wasn't familiar with The Jesus Lizard. Fixing that.
