Re: Quick movie reviews

Went and saw the new Superman last night with one of my daughters. It was fine. Not terrible, not great. She liked it way more than I did. I grew up on Richard Donner Superman. I know a lot of the stuff in the movie is from the comics but having all the other crazy meta humans made it feel like an ...

Re: Favorite cocktails

Last week we went to dinner and my wife ordered an espresso martini. She really liked it and asked me yesterday if I could make one for her. I looked it up online, sounded easy, so I tried. I failed, according to her. My taste buds were also not impressed. So we went out for a drink. Pro tip guys ...

Re: Favorite cocktails

Speaking of mixing gin and vodka, I had a martini once (I think in Vegas?) that on the menu was called The Rat Pack and it was a traditional martini made with 50/50 gin and vodka. It was quite good.

Only bonus, first time I got yelled at to turn it down in the new house.

LOL. Was that from a neighbor or family member?

Family member. On that note, I have to say SVS SB-3000 hit HARD. I was fully prepared for some severe limitations of the new subs. I had planned to get two PB-3000s but ...

Re: Quick movie reviews

I watched John Wick 4 over the weekend. Eh. I like this series but any attempt at even pretending to have a plot ended after #2. This is just loose connections between massive fight set-pieces. There is NO plot. Only bonus, first time I got yelled at to turn it down in the new house.

Re: Favorite cocktails

Hey @CJ, I see a negroni on your original list, which is my go-to cocktail starter when out to dinner. I also make them at home. You might want to try shaking it with ice beforehand if you haven't tried, It really smooths out that first sip.

I recently tried a tequilla-variation for a negroni ...

Memoir of a Snail

Memoir of a Snail is a quirky Australian stop-motion animation tragedy. Hard to describe without spoilers but it touches on some pretty rough topics and earns an R rating without really any swearing or violence, if that gives you an idea. My 19 year old daughter picked the movie based on seeing the ...

Congrats on your new home CJ!

Your setup reminds me a lot of my own system, happily chugging along after eight years (plus a TV upgrade about 3 years ago):
